The Avon Grove HS Color Guard will be accepting new members for the 2010 Indoor Season and the 2010 Fall Marching Band Season.  Any AGHS student is eligible, no experience necessary.

Indoor Color Guard

• Perform routine with dance, flag, sabre and rifle to pre-recorded music.
• Rehearsals start in late November.
• Competitions run February through the first weekend of May.
• Rehearsals are two evenings a week with additional rehearsals and competitions on Saturdays or Sundays.
• The AGHS Indoor Guard competes in the Tournament of Bands Indoor Circuit and is currently in the Intermediate A class.
• Costs include: costume, equipment bag, gloves, and weekend trip to all chapter championships in Wildwood, NJ.  (Fundraising is available).

Fall Marching Band Color Guard

• Perform with the AGHS Marching band at competitions, football games, and parades.
• Rehearsals start with pre-season training in May, summer rehearsals once a week June and July, and band camp in August.  The regular season begins when school begins with rehearsals two evenings a week, Football games on Fridays, and competitions on Saturdays.  Parades are also scheduled on various days.  The season culminates with Championships in early November.
• The AGHS Marching Band competes as a Group IV band in the Tournament of Bands Circuit.
• Costs include: warm-ups, shoes, gloves, leotard, and equipment bag. (Fundraising available).

Tryout Information

• Both the indoor and outdoor color guard are all inclusive.  All students are welcome to participate.  At times, less experienced students will perform smaller portions of the program to allow them to further develop their skills.
• Rifle and sabre positions will be by audition.
